Die dritte Global Soil Week (GSW 2015) ist ein wichtiges internationales Forum für nachhaltige Bodennutzung und richtet sich an Wissenschaft, Politik und Medien. Sie hat sich zur Aufgabe gemacht, nachhaltiges Land- und Bodenmanagement auf der internationalen politischen Agenda, in der Forschung und in der allgemeinen Öffentlichkeit stärker zu verankern. Um diese Ziele unter Einbeziehung der Perspektive von NachwuchswissenschaftlerInnen und angehenden JournalistInnen sowie Medienschaffenden voranzutreiben, wird erstmals das Young Professionals Programm angeboten. Dafür laden die Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH, das Institute for Advanced Sustainability Studies (IASS) und World Overview of Conservation Approaches and Technologies (WOCAT) bis zu 15 Graduierte, Promovierende und Young Professionals auf die GSW 2015 nach Berlin ein. Die Konferenzbeiträge, die Unterkunft und ein Teil der Fahrtkosten werden vom IASS und der GIZ übernommen.
 
Geboten wird die Möglichkeit zur aktiven Teilnahme an der GSW 2015 mit logistischer und fachlicher Begleitung im Rahmen des Young Professionals Programms.

Call for the Young Professionals Programme at the Global Soil Week

The United Nations declared 2015 the International Year of Soils. For good reasons, because even though soil is the basis to feed the world, soil degradation is an urgent global problem. The third Global Soil Week (GSW 2015) is an outstanding international forum on sustainable soil and land management. It addresses science, politics and media. The GSW aims to raise attention for sustainable soil and land management in international policy, in science and in public debates.

To meet these targets and to gain support from young professionals and scientists as well as from prospective journalists and media experts, the Young Professionals Programme is offered for the first time. GIZ, IASS and WOCAT invite up to 15 graduates, Ph.D. students and Young Professionals to the GSW 2015 in Berlin.
The Young Professionals Programme offers the participation at the GSW 2015 including an introductory and guiding programme as well as professional networking opportunities.
