The Soil Science of Tropical and Subtropical Ecosystems group at the
Georg-August-Universität Göttingen is offering the position of a

Doctoral researcher (soil science, agro-ecology)

in the BMBF-funded joint research project, BonaRes-SIGNAL ‘Sustainable
Intensification of aGriculture through Agroforestry

experimental agroforestry systems with conventional agriculture in
central and eastern Germany, and 2) assessing soil nutrient
availability and nutrient losses through leaching from these systems.
Specific responsibilities include: a) measuring plant- and soil-
available nutrients, including using 15N isotope dilution techniques,
b) conducting and organizing year-round measurements of nutrient
leaching losses, c) support the establishment of a new site, and d)
analyzing data, writing publications, giving presentations in (inter)
national conferences and completing a PhD degree.
