Postdoctoral Researcher sought to conduct applied, ecologically-focused research in a team-oriented soil fertility lab. Research will focus on developing affordable, soil-testing methods of active organic matter for growers and linking these methods to soil ecosystem function. Methods will be calibrated with nutrient recommendations for grain cropping systems in Ohio. Related but independent lines of research will be encouraged.
Funding is available for three years, with position renewed annually based on performance. The position is located in Wooster, Ohio, at the Ohio Agricultural Research and Development Center (OARDC), and is available starting June 2014.
Experience with laboratory analyses of soils and plants, organic matter fractionation, soil quality and health desired. Experience with conducting field-based research. Excellent organizational and quantitative skills, demonstrated record of research excellence, and expertise in one or more of the following fields: soil science, soil fertility, agronomy, cropping systems research. Preferred experience with R and SAS.
