The Institute of Geology and Palaeontology – Applied Geology of the Faculty Geosciences at the Westfälische Wilhelms-University of Münster, Germany, offers a

PhD position (Wissenschaftliche/r Mitarbeiter/in) in the field of
Impact of geosorbents on bioavailability of polycyclic aromatic compounds in soils and sediments (salary level TV-L 13)

to be filled as soon as possible. Current working hours are 19 hours and 55 minutes per week. Teaching of two hours per week in the field of applied geology is required.

Requirements:
• Degree of MSc- or Diploma in the field of Geosciences,
Environmental Sciences or related field
• Knowledge and in best case experiences with gas chromatography
– mass spectrometry (GC-MS)
• Knowledge on environmental pollutions
• Knowledge and in best case experiences with sample preparation
of soils/sediments/solid samples
• Good English, written and orally, German at least basic
knowledge
• Supervision of bachelor and master students

Our offer:
• PhD position for three years
• Opportunity for a dissertation in the field of bioavailability
of polycyclic aromatic compounds in soils and sediments
• Ultra high resolution-quadrupol-time-of-flight-mass
spectrometry (HRMS, combined with GC or LC), LC-ESI-MS, PSE
• Teaching of two hours per week and term in the field of
geosciences including organic environmental analysis
